Finally a day of hanging around, playing at the beach etc. Actually, a little too much beach. so much for sunscreen. Makena is burnt but fortunately not too bad. We have to slather it a little thicker. Lots of snorkeling, boogie boarding and Monastery Tag (Google it) for which Napili Beach is ideally made. I can believe how long the kids can roll around in the waves filling their bathing suits with sand. Almost 6 hours worth of beach time. Gotta moderate a bit. Problem is, Napili Bay is about the best place in the world. On the south end, where we enter, there are great tide pools. In the middle, there's a reef offshore so there's a bit of a break onshore that make for good skimboarding, boogie boarding etc. The far end is quite calm, crystal clear and great for snorkeling and swimming. It's practically perfect in every way:)
Went to Kaanapali for a look around and had pizza and a movie back home. Another great day.

OUCH!
Aloe Vera???
Glad you guys are having fun on this amazing island. Ice cream place is right across from our complex.
Youch!!
We agree it's hard to moderate when you are in just about the best place on earth.
We bribed our children to come in for lunch with episodes of "full house" (they had never seen it before)
All is well here
A firetruck steamed through Auguston with sirens going on Saturday night but don't worry - we checked to make sure it wasn't your house. (it was a false alarm from somebody's alarm system we think).
Hi to Makenna from Mackie
Hi to Isaac from Thompson
Wardles,
First of all, the fire trucks didn't come for a false alarm. Three teens (don't know them) decided to light up some wood and have a marshmallow roast in one of the concrete conduits down in the clearing behind our place. There was a lot of smoke so a few of us went to check it out. I guess the kids threw a few PVC pipes into the mix. Really smart. Can you spell CANCER!!! Anyhow, someone must have called the fire department and they came and put it out. Somehow the 3 teens disappeared just before they showed up.
On another note, Viv called me last Thursday at work to tell me our van was making a funny noise whenever she would go over 45 km/hr on the road. She was very concerned so she drove to my office for me (the super mechanic - yeah right) to check it out. I opened the hood and everything looked and sounded normal (I think) so we went for a spin. After a few minutes of listening, a light went on. It was your roof rack. I think the combo of your roof rack and mine on at the same time made a bit of a wind tunnel effect so there was a low pitch woooing sound.
We're off to Creation in 2 days. Yee haw.
Orly for the Schmidts
Looks like you are having fun, but I thought the jeep was going to be orange! Any sign of the nuns?
